From October 12th to 15th, 2018, the Advanced Manufacturing Industry Finals of the Seventh China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held in Luoyang, Henan. YueQian Laser’s General Manager, Wang Xiaoxiang, participated with a project on "Application of Laser Surface Manufacturing Technology in the Shield Excavation Industry." While YueQian Laser did not reach the final top position, the company showcased its technological strength and market potential, gaining positive feedback from investors and media.
YueQian Laser focused on a significant technical challenge in shield boring machines used in subways, water conservancy, high-speed rail, and other infrastructure projects. The company developed a laser cladding technology to strengthen the shield hob cutter ring, which had been facing frequent wear and failure during use. After extensive research and testing, YueQian Laser introduced a super wear-resistant and impact-resistant coating, which improved tunneling efficiency, reduced tool wear, and minimized shutdowns. This breakthrough is the first global application of laser cladding to strengthen shield hob cutter rings and has proven successful in engineering practice.
Looking ahead, YueQian Laser will continue to focus on surface modification and additive manufacturing, aiming to address technical issues in the industry and contribute to intelligent and green manufacturing solutions. The company strives to explore more industry applications with positive economic and social impacts, focusing on quality improvement, cost reduction, energy saving, and emission reduction.
